United went behind in the 29th minute through Nacho Monreal, when the Gunners full-back was left in acres of space to stroke the ball past David De Gea.

Wayne Rooney equalised moments later with a superb header, but a poor pass back from Antonio Valencia allowed Danny Welbeck to bag the winner 15 minutes into the second-half.

The shocking defending meant Arsenal made the most of it

"The shocking defending meant Arsenal made the most of it," Keane said.

"You couldn't begrudge Arsenal that win, they thoroughly deserved it."

"Shocking defending for the second goal," the former United skipper added.

"Phil Jones had time to clear, he can do better, the goalkeeper could've sacrificed himself there and Danny Welbeck had read the poor back pass."
