Wojciech Szczesny has been benched in Arsenal's last four games

Szczesny has been dropped for the past four games and has seen his place between the sticks taken by David Ospina this spring.

But Wenger wants Szczesny back in the first team, comparing his situation to Kieran Gibbs and Nacho Monreal's battle for places in the defence.

According to the boss, competition for the number one spot is tight but Szczesny will get the nod if he proves himself ready.

“He’s responded very well and it’s a bit like the situation with Gibbs and Monreal,” he said.

“It’s a tight competition - we have three goalkeepers who are top class and all close to each other.

"He works very hard in training and, if available, he will play on Monday night. His talent will allow him to come back.”

Arsenal travel to United tonight hoping to make consecutive FA Cup semifinals, despite having not won at Old Trafford since 2006.
