ANGEL DI MARIA says Manchester United must focus on shutting down Alexis Sanchez when Arsenal visit Old Trafford in the FA Cup quarterfinal tonight.

United midfielder Di Maria joined the Manchester club from Real Madrid for £60million in the summer, a month after Sanchez completed his £30m deal from Barcelona to Arsenal.

The two went head to head on a number of occasions in Spain and both started earlier this season when United beat Arsenal 2-1 at the Emirates.

And Di Maria believes his South American counterpart, who has scored 19 goals this season, will prove dangerous at Old Trafford tonight.

"Sanchez is a player who has been in some great form this season and since he came to Arsenal he hasn't stopped scoring or creating goals," Di Maria told manutd.com.

"He's been tremendous and seems to be the key player for Arsenal. When he plays well, they seem to play well too.

"We've seen him in various games. If he gets hold of the ball and does what he can with it, then that works well for Arsenal.

"We have to keep a close eye on him and try to prevent him from creating openings with his passing as we know that every time he gets to run at you he can create danger."
