Brendan Rodgers has revealed that Martin Skrtel is fine after his early injury against Blackburn

The centre-back was forced off the pitch in the opening stages after landing awkwardly following a collision with Rovers forward Rudy Gestede.

Skrtel appeared to be in some pain as Kolo Toure took his place on the field, but speaking after the match, Rodgers revealed that the 30-year-old could actually have remained on the field.

He explained: "Martin Skrtel is fine. He could have played on but you have to listen to the medical team and the experts and he is fine in the changing room.
