Liverpool fans react with DISBELIEF as 'ironman' Skrtel is carried off on a stretcher
LIVERPOOL fans reacted in dismay this afternoon after seeing 'ironman' Martin Skrtel carried off on a stretcher.
Martin Skrtel went off on a stretcher after clashing with Rudy Gestede
The Slovenian defender clashed with Blackburn striker Rudy Gestede in just the second minute of the FA Cup quarter-final.
And after requiring eight minutes of treatment on the pitch, Skrtel was carried off on a stretcher.
The 30-year-old gave the thumbs up to the Anfield crowd to show that he was fine, despite the worrying nature of the scenes.
But Liverpool fans could scarcely believe that Skrtel could be hurt, such is his reputation as a hardman.

And we've all seen Skrtel shake off blows to the head that would fell an elephant. Brain injury has nothing to do with how "tough" you are.
