Jenkinson is currently on loan at Upton Park meaning he isn't eligible to feature against his parent club on 14 March.

And while the England international's form could see Arsene Wenger look to integrate him back into his Gunners squad next season, his future may lie away from the Emirates.

Jenkinson has made 23 Premier League appearances for Sam Allardyce's side so far this season and played an important part in the Hammers impressive start to the season.

He will not play against Arsenal. This year.

The former Charlton star has a contract at Arsenal until 2018, but Gold has hinted that West Ham will try and sign the player outright at the end of the season.

Asked if Jenkinson was available to play against Arsenal on Saturday, Gold tweeted: "He will not play against Arsenal. This year."

And those final two words will give West Ham fans hope that Jenkinson will be back at the club - and free to face Arsenal - next season.
