Manchester United broke their transfer record for Di Maria, spending £59m last summer after the Argentina star helped Madrid win their tenth European Cup, in a bid to break back into the top four.

And the 27-year-old was impressive in his first few weeks in the Premier League but, since picking up an injury against Hull, has struggled for form.

Louis van Gaal recently admitted he needed to be more consistent and said it could take up to a year for him to full settle in the country.

Ozil - who was a team-mate of Di Maria at Madrid - has also come in for criticism since his move.

Ozil, signed a year earlier by Arsenal for £42.5m, has however improved since his latest injury.

The Germany star has scored four in his last nine games in all competitions and has delivered another four assists.

And the pair will come up against each other on Monday in the FA Cup quarter-final at Old Trafford.

And, according to Opta stats, Ozil has a better pass completion (87%) than Di Maria (78%) and has scored more goals per game (0.25) to (0.18).

Ozil also leads the way on successful and key passes, although Di Maria fares better in chances created.

Di Maria also creates more goals (0.49) to (0.42) than Ozil and is fouled more often.
