A disagreement between agents is said to have scuppered a move at that time, but reports in France this morning suggest it will be a different story in the summer.
The 27-year-old has always wanted to play in England and it is suggested that the player wants to make the move while still at his peak.

And the player's agent, Mino Raiolo, seems unlikely to stand in Matuidi's way having pushed for a move last summer.
