Championship outfit Rovers have already dumped two top-flight teams out of the competition, with shock victories over Swansea and Stoke.

And even though Liverpool have won six out of their last seven games in all competitions the Reds midfielder preached caution ahead the clash at Anfield.

"It's a great competition and a great chance of getting to Wembley in the semi-finals," said Lallana.

"A lot of the big guns went out in the early rounds so that is good and maybe we can capitalise on that.

"But Blackburn won't be easy, they will come here full of optimism and want to cause another upset.

"We're still unbeaten in the league in 2015. We have a great rhythm and got a bit of consistency and we're keeping clean sheets as well.

"Confidence is a big thing in any time in any walk of life. We have that in abundance at the minute, and it is showing."

Lallana also reckons Jordan Henderson's performances have scaled new heights during his spell as stand-in Liverpool skipper.

Regular captain Steven Gerrard has been out of action since Liverpool's win over Tottenham on 10 February with a hamstring problem.

In Gerrard's absence Henderson has been the heartbeat of Liverpool's team and was hugely influential in their 2-0 win over Burnley during the week, scoring one goal and setting up another for Daniel Sturridge.

"He's unbelievable," Lallana added. "For me Jordan has matured as a player over the last two years and kicked on to another level, even with the armband.

"I was lucky enough to be captain at Southampton and it does give you that little bit extra. It seems it is doing the same to him as well."
