Angel Di Maria was hooked again as United struggled

United's record signing lasted longer than the 45 minutes he did against Sunderland - this time managing nearly a whole hour.

Adnan Januzaj replaced him after 59 minutes with the game still goalless.

United, however, were fortunate to not be behind having seen Chris Smalling's foul on Emmanuel Riviere go unpunished in the first half.

Louis van Gaal kept faith with Di Maria from the start but dropped Radamel Falcao to the bench, putting Wayne Rooney as the lone forward.

But it was Young - who replaced Di Maria - who scored the winning goal in the 89th minute.
