David Silva opened the scoring for City against Leicester

The Spain midfielder's strike on the stroke of half time before Milner's late strike sealed a vital three points for Manuel Pellegrini's side aginst struggling Leicester.

City, who started just four points clear of Arsenal, needed to win after falling five points behind Chelsea – who have a game in hand.

The Chilean made the controversial decision to drop Vincent Kompany – whose form of late has faltered – bringing in Martin Demichelis alongside Eliaquim Mangala.

And City were rewarded with their first clean sheet in three games.
