Alves is expected to depart the Nou Camp side this summer when his contract expires, with Barca seemingly unwilling to offer him a new deal.

Manchester United are known suitors of the right-back, who has made no secret of his acceptance that he will be leaving Barca come July.

According to previous reports, Alves' representatives have held discussions with United bosses over a £100,000-a-week, three-year contract for the Brazilian.

That would total just over £15million for three seasons, a much cheaper option than the £37m reportedly required to trigger Porto ace Danilo's contract.

Alves, 31, will be available on a free transfer and is expected to replace current right-back Rafael, who is reportedly heading back to Brazil.

And Alves' agent Dinorah Santa Ana confirmed a new move should be finalised soon.

“We’re close to signing for another club, talks are underway,” she told RAC1.

“Dani is still available [for renewal], but we don’t expect much else [from Barca].”
