Kevin-Prince Boateng has been linked with a move to Arsenal

The Metro claims that the Ghana international will be allowed to quit the Bundesliga outfit this summer, with his current contract set to expire in the summer of 2016.

Boateng could be allowed to leave Schalke for as little as £10m, with Arsene Wenger said to be keen on adding the powerful playmaker to his star-studded squad.

However, it has been noted that Inter Milan are also interested in bringing Boateng to Italy, with the 27-year-old having already plied his trade with city rivals AC.

Boateng joined Schalke in the summer of 2013, making 35 appearances in his first season at the Veltins-Arena.

But the ex-Portsmouth player has failed to score in 16 matches this campaign, and the Metro adds that head coach Roberto Di Matteo is now ready to move him on after switching to a new 5-3-2 formation.

Whether Arsenal fans are prepared to welcome a former Spurs man to the Emirates remains to be seen, with Wenger already having a plethora of options in the centre of the park.
