Nigel Pearson: Leicester City need all the points they can get

LEICESTER boss Nigel Pearson admits his rock-bottom team are now treading a relegation tightrope and can no longer view their trip to Manchester City as simply “a bonus game”.

Nigel Pearson and Leicester desperately need points

The Foxes are four points adrift of safety and that gap could grow before kick-off at the Etihad tomorrow with other rivals in action tonight.

And Pearson concedes his team’s plight means there is now no margin for error his team.

He said: “Before a ball is kicked in a season people would look at a fixture like this and say it is a bit of a bonus game.

“But we can’t have too many bonus games now here on in because we haven’t got enough points for that.

“It is an important game for us and I want us to perform well again but we need to start picking up some scrappy points as well.”
