Javier Pastore is closing in on a new deal at PSG

The Argentine midfielder - whose situation has been monitored by the Premier League giants - is likely to extend his stay at the Parc des Princes until 2019.

Pastore joined PSG in 2011 from Palermo in a deal worth close to €40m and the 25-year-old is enjoying his best season in Ligue 1, having played 30 times for Laurent Blanc's side so far.

Capped 16 times by Argentina, Pastore's progress in France was stifled following the big money signings of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Edinson Cavani and Lucas Moura.

But this year, despite PSG struggling to retain their title, he has been given more game-time and is joint fourth in the assist table with five and has scored twice.

And L'Equipe report he is in advanced negotiations to extend his deal.
