Man Utd and Chelsea told £30m bid WON'T be enough to land Inter star Mauro Icardi

MANCHESTER UNITED and Chelsea have been told that £30m won't be enough to sign Mauro Icardi from Inter Milan this summer.

Mauro Icardi Player Profile

The Premier League duo have both been linked with a move for the Argentine star as they look to boost their striking ranks at the end of the season.

And while Icardi has sometimes courted controversy off the field this season, there is no disputing his record on the pitch.

Indeed, the 22-year-old has scored 14 goals in 24 Serie A appearances so far this term and Inter are now planning on building around the player.

Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio

Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio told Sky Sports Italia: "What if someone bids €40m (£30m) for him in the summer?

"Well we've got no intention of doing business, we're thinking of the present and future of this football club with Icardi.

"Our intentions are clear. We're building a team to last for a long time with very talented, young players.

"As well as Mateo Kovacic and Icardi, we've added more quality players such as Marcelo Brozovic and Xherdan Shaqiri and we want to continue in this vein."
