PSV admit Man Utd target Memphis Depay CAN leave this summer after snubbing £15m Spurs bid

TOTTENHAM saw a £15million bid for PSV star Memphis Depay rejected last summer, but the player has been told he can leave at the end of the season.

Memphis Depay Player Profile

Depay was one of the most impressive performers for the Netherlands at the World Cup in Brazil.

And that led to speculation that he could be in line for a move to the Premier League with Tottenham or Manchester United.

The winger has continued his rise to prominence with impressive performances in the Eredivisie this term, and both United and Spurs could rekindle their interest in the summer.

And according to PSV director Toon Gerbrands, the club would not stand in the way of the player leaving after rebuffing at least one offer from Spurs in the past.

Memphis Depay looks set to leave PSV

He has the option to leave after this season.

PSV director Toon Gerbrands

He told Dutch television channel NOS: "They [Tottenham] were willing to offer €20m (£15m).

"We decided to keep hold of him.

"But he has the option to leave after this season."

Gerbrands added: "I think these players [Depay and teammate Georginio Wijnaldum] are very attractive to a lot of clubs in Europe.

"So far, no one has come forward with an offer [for next summer] but I expect we will come under great pressure [to sell]."
