Coutinho cut inside to fire past Joe Hart from the edge of the area at Anfield, ensuring Liverpool a third straight Premier League victory.

Fellow midfielder Jordan Henderson scored a near-replica of Coutinho's strike earlier in the match, which helped Liveprool rise to sixth in the table.

And Lallana believes his side can achieve their league and FA Cup aims this season with players like Coutinho in form.

"That's a massive win for us. We've got momentum, they're the champions and we deserved it," he said.

"The little magician - Coutinho - at the end, coming up with wonderful goal. With players like that we'll go far.

"Our system has been causing problems for opponents, the manager said keep patient and find the space.

"We thought we were unlucky not to go in ahead at half-time. The lads showed character, many played extra-time in midweek and had a long flight but we showed we can keep fighting."
