It is understood that a straight swap of Sergio Augero for Suarez could seal the move for City.
City welcomed Suarez back to England this week when they hosted the first leg of their Champions League last-16 against Barcelona but it was the Uruguay international that punished Manuel Pellegrini's side with his two goals.
