The Spaniard bagged his fifth of the season in the 2-1 defeat at Swansea over the weekend, his second in as many matches.

Meanwhile, United strikers Falcao, Rooney and Van Perise have scored as many between them in the last five outings, both coming from the penalty spot.

"I haven’t really got a target for goals, I think we’re a very attacking side and I just want to help," he said.

"I knew that scoring goals was one of the things I could improve on, but I don’t want to stop now, I want to keep working and helping the team.

"The most important thing is that we win, but of course, when I score I’m happy.

"Our goal is to be in the top four, to get Champions League football and win the FA Cup - we don’t want to drop out of the top four."

Herrera arrived at Old Trafford in the summer for £32m after Louis van Gaal triggered his release clause at Athletic Bilbao.
