Chelsea could sign 'golden nuggets' of French football Paul Pogba and Raphael Varane
MICHEL PLATINI says Chelsea targets Paul Pogba and Raphael Varane are "golden nuggets" of the France national set-up.
Pogba, 21, is currently valued at £80 and has made 22 international appearances since his debut in 2013.
And Real Madrid defender Varane, also 21, boasts 17 caps. He is wanted by Manchester United as well as the Blues and is valued at £25m.
Both players are being trailed by Chelsea, who are gearing up to rival United's £150m summer spending spree come July.
And UEFA president PLatini believes both players could make it big on the world stage.
“He's not bad,” Platini said of Pogba. “We've seen many prospects who never lived up to their promise.

“But with [Raphael] Varane and Pogba, we have two gold nuggets for the French team.
“I have no advice for him. He's already surrounded by people giving him suggestions but he will do what he wants.
“I think he's already mature. He left Manchester United to join Juve.
“That's no simple task, but it made a man of him, and a stronger player.
“He has all the qualities to become a really, really great player someday.”
