PORTO striker Jackson Martinez is keen on a summer move to Arsenal after hearing praise from Gunners boss Arsene Wenger.

The Colombian has also attracted interest from Manchester United, with Louis van Gaal keen to sign him as a replacement for Radamel Falcao.

However, the Red Devils look set to miss out on Martinez, with today's reports in Portugal claiming the 28-year-old now favours a move to the Emirates after hearing Wenger's complimentary words.

The French tactician said last week: "He could play in the Premier League, Jackson Martinez, because he has the body to make the difference.

"He uses in a very intelligent way his body, very short backlift and is a very good finisher."

Martinez - with £32m release clause in his contract - revealed last week that he intends to leave Porto at the end of the season.

"In the summer I’ll leave Porto for a new team," said Martinez, who has 85 goals in 122 outings for the Portuguese giants.

"Players develop well in Portugal, and I thank the club for making me the player I am today.

"However, it’s time for a new adventure, to grow from a professional point of view."
