Jose Luis Gaya is a target for Arsenal

The 19-year-old emerged as a target for the Gunners during the January transfer window after impressing in La Liga this term.

Real Madrid are also thought to be interested and a £13.5million release clause in the player's contract makes the left-back an enticing prospect.

Nacho Monreal's impressive form meant Arsene Wenger held off making a move last month, but the French tactician was contemplating rekindling his interest in the summer.

Valencia are ready to offer Jose Luis Gaya a bumper new deal

But reports in Spain suggest that Los Che will offer Gaya a bumper new deal to keep him at the Mestalla.

Indeed, a ten-fold increase in the player's salary would see him become one of the three highest-paid players in Nuno Santo's squad.

It now remains to be seen, however, whether the massive pay spike will be enough to keep Gaya at Valencia or whether he would prefer to hold out for a move to Arsenal or Real in the near future.
