Louis van Gaal prepares £5m bid to sign Robert Kenedy

According to reports in Spain, United and Chelsea have sent scouts to watch the Brazil Under-20 international in the 2015 South American Youth Football Championship.

The Fluminense forward could only managed one goal to guide his nation to fourth in the biennial tournament, but the Premier League pair were impressed by what they saw.

And now the Spanish media suggest Louis van Gaal is preparing a £5m move for when the transfer window reopens in the summer.

However, the Red Devils could miss out on Kenedy, with the 19-year-old previously revealing his desire to play for Chelsea.

The youngster appreciates compatriots Oscar and Ramires at the club, with Filipe Luis, Willian and Diego Costa joining since.

“Of course I am happy to play for Fluminense but it is my ambition to one day play in Europe”, he said. “I like Chelsea because of players like Oscar and Ramires. I like the whole team."
