MANCHESTER UNITED are reportedly close to agreeing a new deal with goalkeeper David De Gea.

But United are desperate to keep the Spaniard at Old Trafford and are in talks over fresh terms.

And The Sun claim the Red Devils are close to thrashing out a five-year deal worth around £140,000-a-week for De Gea.

The 24-year-old's agent Jorge Mendes revealed yesterday he was in talks with United.

"It's not true the deal is done," he said. "I am negotiating his contract renewal but we haven't signed anything.

"We're holding talks and it seems he could continue with United. But, as I say, we haven't signed anything yet."
