CONFIRMED: Leeds United sign defender Sol Bamba on season-long loan deal from Palermo
LEEDS UNITED have signed Palermo centre-back Sol Bamba on loan until the rest of the season.
Sol Bamba played for Ivory Coast in the 2014 World Cup
The West Yorkshire club completed the deal on the same day owner Massimo Cellino was expelled by the Football League from all board activities.
Ivorian Bamba has made just one appearance for Serie A side Palermo this season - a 3-3 draw with Napoli back in September.
The 30-year-old returns to the UK, having previously played for Dunfermline, Hibernian and Leicester City between 2006 and 2012.

The defender had only recently signed for Palermo, having left Turkish side Trabzonspor last summer.
Leeds have conceded 38 goals in 27 league games this season and sit 20th in the Championship.
Leeds head coach Neil Redfearn told leedsunited.com: “Sol trained with us for the first time on Friday morning and from what I have seen he looks like he will be a really good addition to the squad.
“We know about Sol and what he can bring to the side. He knows the Championship and British football from his time at Leicester City and also from playing up in Scotland.
“He can play both left and right side of the defence and he brings great experience that is key in the Championship.”
