Sandro backed to replicate Tottenham form at QPR ahead of Chelsea clash

HARRY REDKNAPP is confident that former Tottenham star Sandro can help QPR become a force in the Premier League.

The Brazilian moved to Loftus Road from White Hart Lane to link up with Redknapp for a second time, but has failed to impress as he looks to build up his match-fitness.

However, Sandro put in a terrific performance in the 2-0 win over Aston Villa last weekend, playing the whole 90 minutes and giving the Hoops the steel they have been searching for in midfield.

And speaking ahead of Saturday’s clash with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, Redknapp admitted that a fully-fit Sandro makes a world of difference to QPR’s performances.

He said: “It was good (he played the 90). We need that. It was important we got him playing again.

“He’s an important player for us. We need him in the middle of the park, he gives us strength and power in there. Get him playing and we’ll be a stronger team for sure.”
