Sir Alex Ferguson makes SHOCKING plea to bring Ronaldo back to Manchester United
SIR ALEX FERGUSON is believed to have phoned former Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo to encourage his Old Trafford return.
The return of Ronaldo has developed into somewhat of a fascination for some fans - epitomized by the banner flown over the Estadio El Madrigal on Saturday afternoon.
It has previously been reported that United chiefs would ask Ferguson to use his special relationship with Ronaldo to lure the coveted winger back to Manchester.
And according to respected football agent Francois Gallardo, the Scotsman has obliged.
On Wednesday Cristiano received a call from Ferguson
Gallardo spoke with French daily tabloid Le 10 Sport, confirming the news that every United fan would want to hear.
He said: "On Wednesday Cristiano received a call from Ferguson [about returning to United].
"He was he was happy at Real Madrid but the whole transfer depends on Jorge Mendes."
Mendes has frequently been referred to as the most powerful man in world football, and boasts an incredible array of clients including; Angel Di Maria, Cristiano Ronaldo, Jose Mourinho and Radamel Falcao.
Ronaldo has repeatedly discussed his desire to return to Manchester one day, a factor that may prove decisive when he makes his final decision at the end of the season.
He said: "Everyone knows that - I have said it many times. Manchester is in my heart. I left many good friends there, the supporters are amazing and I wish I can come back one day."
It's thought an offer in the region of £60m in addition to £300,000 per-week wages would be enough to secure a deal.
