Paul Pogba reveals Arsenal & Chelsea interest, claims love for Juve saw him leave Man Utd
PAUL POGBA has confirmed that Arsenal and Chelsea were chasing his signature this summer but that his love for Juventus prevented him from making a return to England.
Former Manchester United youngster Pogba was heavily linked with Arsenal as the transfer window came to a close, and he has now revealed that Chelsea were also interested.
And the French international has revealed he always harboured ambitions of playing for the Turin giants.
Speaking to Sky Sports Italia he said: "Juventus? I've liked them ever since I was a kid, always supported them.
"This club means so much to the French. The best French players have played here and that is why I liked it."
Such is Pogba's affection for the Old Lady, even Sir Alex Ferguson could not prevent the 20-year-old leaving Manchester United for Italy last summer.
He said: "Ferguson tried to stop me leaving Manchester United but was unsuccessful."
And that same affection effectively ruled out any prospect of Pogba leaving the club this summer despite interest from England and elsewhere in Serie A.
He added" "Were there other clubs chasing me? Yes, but I had my mind only on Juventus.
"At the time I heard of interest from Arsenal and Chelsea, and in Italy AC Milan, but there is no one like Juve.
"As for my future? I'm glad to be here. I want to win as many trophies as I can in this shirt."
