BT SPORT are stepping up their preparations for the start of the new Premier League season by testing out the goal-line technology kit.
The new channel will be show it's first ever live game of the new season when Liverpool entertain Stoke in the 11.30am kick off.
BT Sport have a state-of-the-art studio and presenters Steve McManaman, David James and Jake Humphrey have been demonstrating the new Goal Decision System.
Speaking about the new technology, BT Sport's refereeing expert Mark Halsey said: "Referees will admit we have had many issues around goal decisions in the past, particularly in big matches.
"Too many. GDS is going to enhance and advance referees’ decision-making processes.
"There will be no escape for referees now as the technology on goal decisions is instant and all eyes will be on them.
"But it will also take pressure away from referees as there are always lots of moments in a match where referees just can not see everything.
"Official stats show there were 24 instances last season in the Premier League where GDS would have come into play – so it’s a big moment in terms of refereeing”.
