Mark Hughes is determined to succeed at Stoke
MARK HUGHES has vowed to make a success of the Stoke job for the sake of his own sanity.
Hughes is facing a backlash from Potters fans after his disastrous spell at Queens Park Rangers.
After being appointed to his fifth Premier League manager’s job in nine years, he said: “My intention, for my own sanity, is to repair my reputation at Stoke City and stay here for as long as I can.
“I can understand there is a little bit of reticence to my appointment because for the last six months they have been told my ability as a manager is in question.
“I’ve had around 270 games managing at Premier League level but people have wanted to define my managerial career based on 12 games at the start of last season.
“I would just say, ‘look a bit deeper than that’.”
