Rio Ferdinand puts pen to paper on new one-year deal
MANCHESTER UNITED were given a welcome bit of good news after Rio Ferdinand signed a new one-year contract extension.
Ferdinand collected his sixth Premier League winners' medal this season and was the match winner in Sir Alex Ferguson's last home game in charge of the Premier League champions.
We revealed earlier this week Ferdinand was closing in on a new deal and now he has put the final touches to it, and will continue to pocket £115,000-a-week.
Ferdinand took to Twitter to express his delight, tweeting: "Sooooo happy to sign a 1yr extension for this great club, living the dream.
"Roll on next season #mufc"
Ferdinand has spent this week in Marbella, enjoying his friend's stag celebrations.
