Brian McDermott installed as the odds-on favourite for Leeds United job
SACKED Reading boss Brian McDermott is now the odds-on favourite to be named Leeds United's new manager.
McDermott emerged as the frontrunner for the job after Neil Warnock quit on Monday.
The Express reported that Leeds will wait until the end of the season before deciding on their new manager in the hope they could lure Brighton boss Gus Poyet to Elland Road.
But bookmakers still make McDermott, who got Reading promoted last year, the favourite to be named the next permanent boss. McDermott is as short as 8/11 with Stan James and William Hill to succeed Warnock.
Neil Redfearn has been placed in caretaker charge for the last six games.
