Fiorentina preparing move for Chelsea’s Fernando Torres
CHELSEA may have a potential suitor for much-maligned forward Fernando Torres this summer.
The Spaniard has struggled to justify his £50m fee since joining the club in 2011, with goals being few and far between.
Moreover, since Rafa Benitez took over the reins at Stamford Bridge, he has failed to rediscover his goal-scoring touch he had when he was at Liverpool that made him one of the most feared strikers in the Premier League.
And now it seems Fiorentina may be willing to offer him a way out of his Chelsea nightmare.
Spanish paper AS suggests the Serie A side will table a bid for Torres and a deal could suit both parties.
The only barrier to a potential move is that La Viola already have Stevan Jovetic and Giuseppe Rossi on their books, so they would have to find a way to accommodate Torres.
The wayward forward has managed just one goal in his last 11 games in all competitions.
