Lars Lagerback fancies Scotland job
ICELAND manager Lars Lagerback has revealed he would be interested in the vacant Scotland job.
The 64-year-old Swede has emerged as a shock contender to be Craig Levein’s successor.
Gordon Strachan, Joe Jordan, Kenny Dalglish and Owen Coyle are among the favourites for the post, but Lagerback has a wealth of international experience after a decade in charge of Sweden, where he guided them to five consecutive tournament finals between 2000 and 2008.
It would be a nice job
He was also manager of Nigeria at the 2010 World Cup before taking up his current position. When asked about the Scotland job, Lagerback said: “It would be a nice job. But I’m not sure the Iceland FA would want to release me.”
