Sunderland star Sebastian Larsson aims for a replay
SEBASTIAN LARSSON has yet to score for Sunderland this season, which is why tonight he has every reason to hope for a repeat of his last performance at Anfield in August 2011.
Sweden international Larsson, above, scored on his Sunderland debut 18 months ago at Liverpool with a stunning volley to hand the Wearside club a share of the points.
“The goal I scored at Anfield is probably the best I have scored since I moved to Sunderland,” said Larsson.
“Hopefully I can go there and do it again. It would be a good time now to get back on the scoresheet.
“It was a while ago that I scored and I’m disappointed I haven’t got any goals this season.
“The position I am playing in doesn’t help as I’m in a more withdrawn role.
“It would be really disappointing if I went a whole season without scoring so it’s down to me to change that.”
Sunderland lost 2-1 at home to Spurs on Saturday and although they have won three of their last five league matches, Martin O’Neill’s side are still very close to the drop zone.

That defeat against Spurs came after they had secured back-to-back league wins for the first time since February.
And a team who could hardly muster a shot on target back in the autumn have started to find the net more regularly.
Larsson said: “We have to pick ourselves up and go again now. At least we managed to show we could run a very good Spurs side close.
“You always expect a tough game at Anfield and some weeks they look like an absolute top team. Other weeks they lose games and you cannot understand how.”
O’Neill will welcome back on-loan defender Danny Rose, who was ineligible for the Spurs match.
