Arsenal in tussle for Klaas-Jan Huntelaar’s signature
ARSENAL have a fight on their hands to secure Klaas-Jan Huntelaar’s signature in the January transfer window.
The Gunners have been long-term admirers of the prolific Schalke marksman, though Juventus and Lazio are ready to hijack the bid.
Arsenal are looking to bolster their firepower especially as it has taken Olivier Giroud a little longer than expected to settle.
And with the club looking to replace the goals left behind by Manchester United frontman Robin van Persie, Huntelaar is deemed a perfect transfer target.
Huntelaar’s agent, Arnoldus Oosterveer, has been slightly more coy about a possible transfer.
He told Italian site forzaitalianfootball.com: “At the moment there are new developments and we will talk with Schalke in January and not before then. Arsenal, Juventus and Lazio are interested.
“I will not comment on rumours whatsoever but in football you can never say never because no outcome is obvious just now.”
Huntelaar has been deadly in front of goal again this season for Schalke, netting nine goals in all competitions for the German outfit.
