Watford 1 - Hull city 1: Level best from Troy Deeney
TROY DEENEY delivered a hammer blow to Hull’s faint play-off hopes.
Deeney cancelled out James Chester’s early opener as 10-man Watford clung on for a point.
Hull made a dream start when Chester powered home Andy Dawson’s fourth-minute corner.
The Hornets were level after 12 minutes when a corner was eventually turned in by Deeney.
Hornets’ half-time substitute Adrian Mariappa was dismissed for two yellow cards but Hull were unable to find a winner.
Hull boss Nick Barmby said: “That’s the play-offs gone. If we won here there’s perhaps an outside possibility.”
Watford boss Sean Dyche said: “We were a little flat but the score was about right.”
