Chelsea v Stoke: Ashley Cole could return for Blues
CHELSEA captain John Terry is set for his first action since the match against Swansea on January 31 after undergoing surgery on his injured knee.
Former England captain Terry was on the bench for Tuesday’s FA Cup replay win at Birmingham, but has trained well this week.
Left-back Ashley Cole has recovered from the heel injury he suffered in last Saturday’s defeat 1-0 at West Brom and interim coach Roberto di Matteo reported a full squad available, with their Champions League second leg tie with Napoli coming up at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday.
Stoke have never beaten Chelsea in seven Premier League meetings, but have drawn the last two encounters. Defender Andy Wilkinson is an injury doubt for Tony Pulis’ side with a hamstring problem, having limped off early in last Saturday’s 1-0 win against Norwich.
Jermaine Pennant’s involvement will be of interest after the winger this week denied reports he had recently been fined by the Potters for two breaches of discipline. Rory Delap (hamstring) faces a fitness test.
