THE FA will write to every player eligible to play for Team GB this week, asking if they are happy to represent the side at the London Olympics next year.
The FA have already come under fire over plans to pick players from the other home nations.
Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland reacted angrily, fearing a GB team would damage their autonomy at Fifa.
Britain – who are also fielding a women’s team at London 2012 – last competed in an Olympic football event in 1960.
