Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas' FA row
CHELSEA manager Andre Villas-Boas is refusing to back down after accusing referee Chris Foy of “losing it”.
Villas-Boas was charged with improper conduct by the Football Association after his verbal attack on Foy following Chelsea’s controversial defeat at QPR last month, when they had two players sent off, seven booked and skipper John Terry became embroiled in a racism row.
But last night the club, fined over the same match for failing to control their players, announced their manager would be fighting the charge.
I spoke to him at the end and I was very aggressive to him. I don’t care if he’s OK or not
A spokesman said: “The manager is denying the charge against him and has submitted his response to the FA.”
Villas-Boas accused Foy of “losing it” and being “card happy” and said he was “a referee not in control of his emotions”.
“The referee was poor, very, very poor,” he added. “I spoke to him at the end and I was very aggressive to him. I don’t care if he’s OK or not.”
