Samir Nasri hails Manchester City Galacticos
SAMIR NASRI last night claimed to have joined the new Galacticos after delivering a parting shot at crisis-hit Arsenal.
Samir Nasri, who became the latest piece in Roberto Mancini’s jigsaw after sealing his £24million move to Manchester City, aimed a double swipe at his former club.
The Frenchman claimed he was left frustrated with delays in the long drawn-out transfer saga that forced him to miss pre-season with his new mega-rich side.
And the midfielder, who has agreed a four-year deal on £185,000-a-week wages, also believes the Arsenal fans have lost their passion since relocating to the Emirates stadium in 2006.
Nasri, 24, said: “I said to the manager I wanted to leave – and I wanted that from the start.
“I stayed for the whole pre-season but I wanted to do it with Manchester City so I could get to know my team-mates.”
I said to the manager I wanted to leave – and I wanted that from the start.
After ending his three-year stay with Arsenal, Nasri added: “Arsenal have good fans, but they are not that passionate since they moved from Highbury to the Emirates.
“I want a good atmosphere when I play football. The fans are passionate here.
“In France they call Manchester City the Galacticos – like it was with Real Madrid when Zinedine Zidane, Ronaldo and everyone was there.”
