Alex Ferguson has warned Barcelona not to underestimate Manchester United
Flushed by the victory over Chelsea which puts his team on the brink of a 19th domestic league title, Ferguson has switched his focus to the May 28 clash at Wembley.
Barca are favourites to repeat their 2009 final win over United in Rome but Ferguson is confident his team can prosper.
Everyone has said this is not a good Manchester United team, that we are not this or that
Manchester United boss Alex Ferguson
“Everyone has said this is not a good Manchester United team, that we are not this or that,” he said. “But we’ve scored more goals than anyone else. Our home form has been magnificent. We’re undefeated in Europe, in the Champions League final and will win the league by getting one more point.
“Obviously, Barcelona is the big one now. What we have to do is find a solution to the Xavi-Messi-Iniesta problem. Everyone is searching for that because they are outstanding footballers. But we have players who can cause any team a lot of bother.”
