Harry Kane to Man Utd: Could United really sign Bayern striker? Everything we know
Harry Kane has been linked with a Premier League return with Manchester United.
Harry Kane’s return to England has been talked up after a tumultuous first season at Bayern Munich. The former Tottenham striker personally has excelled in the Bundesliga but his club face the prospect of a trophyless campaign, with boss Thomas Tuchel already confirmed to depart in the summer.
United have been long-term admirers of Kane and have tried on several occasions to bring him to Old Trafford. Spurs chief Daniel Levy previously refuted those attempts and when he was able to let the England skipper leave north London, the Red Devils were unable to stump up the necessary cash.
Wary of financial regulations that have plagued many of their Premier League rivals, United decided against pursuing the likes of Kane and Declan Rice and instead brought in Rasmus Hojlund and Mason Mount.
But with renewed speculation over Kane’s future, Express Sport has taken a look at whether United could pull off what would be a blockbuster summer transfer.

Kane to United latest
Ex-West Ham player and now coach Kevin Nolan confidently predicted that Kane would return to his homeland one day and tipped United to be the club that tempts him away from Bayern.
"I can certainly see him back in the Premier League," Nolan explained. "I don't think Tottenham would have ever sold him to Manchester United. But for him to go to Bayern Munich, then it's easier for him to come back from Germany, and I think Man United will be his destination.
"I think they [Bayern] would want their money back. Of course [he is worth it]. 20-plus goals every season, and he was playing for Tottenham during them times as well. Realistically, are Man United as good as Tottenham?
"But I just think he brings a different aura to them anyway, a different aura to the team as soon as he puts the shirt on for whoever. I probably think Man United would be the one."

Are United still interested?
Various reports have stated that United are looking to add significant firepower to Erik ten Hag’s squad, with Anthony Martial leaving on a free transfer at the end of the season. Hojlund will be left as the club’s only recognised senior striker and his absence through injury has been felt in recent weeks.
But United are aiming for an experienced forward to help nurture Hojlund and help ease the pressure on his shoulders, with Kane the perfect player to do so if their financial situation allows.
Is a transfer really possible?
As much as United would be at the front of the queue if Kane were to return to the Premier League, the 30-year-old has given no indication that he is open to leaving Bayern after just a year in Germany.
With Nolan stating that the Bundesliga champions would want every penny of their £82million back he would represent a sizable outlay for United, who are watching their finances carefully.
With a promising striker already in position at Old Trafford in Hojlund and several other gaps to fill before Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s first full season at the helm, it would be a major surprise if Kane were to join United in the summer.
