A Leeds United supporter was fell from the stands during the FA Cup fifth round clash with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night

A Leeds fan fell from the top tier of the stands while celebrating a goal against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, causing medics to rush to the scene. Police were also present after the incident.

The fan was seen receiving medical attention before being taken away, leaving those at the match waiting for updates on his condition.

Leeds scored an early goal in west London when forward Mateo Joseph capitalised on a defensive error. Despite Chelsea bouncing back to take the lead with goals from Nicolas Jackson and Mykhailo Mudryk, Joseph managed to score a second time to even the score.

After hearing about the incident, fans sent messages of support for the injured fan. One social media comment read: "Some things are more important than football," while another wished the individual a "speedy recovery".

Another fan wrote: "Hope the Leeds fan that fell from the top tier is okay and makes a swift recovery," It is believed that the incident occurred when Joseph scored his first goal of the evening.

The opening goal, which came after a mistake from Chelsea defender Axel Disasi was missed by the TV cameras in real time. Broadcaster ITV4 was still showing a replay of an earlier chance for Daniel James before cutting back to the live feed as the ball hit the back of the Chelsea net.

The team that wins the game between Chelsea and Leeds will play against Leicester City in the quarter-finals. Enzo Maresca's team, who are doing really well in the Championship, won their match against Bournemouth after extra time on Tuesday night.

Leeds United released a statement that read: "Leeds United can confirm an incident involving a Leeds United supporter occurred in the Shed End of Stamford Bridge during the first-half of tonight's FA Cup game. The incident is being investigated and is in the hands of the emergency services. We will be making no further comment at this time."
