Man Utd 'to restart De Jong pursuit'

Just when Manchester United fans thought it was all over, reports in the Netherlands indicate that they are set to resume their pursuit of Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong.

It looked as though they would abandon their transfer chase after agreeing to sign Casemiro from Real Madrid, with the Brazilian completing his medical on Sunday.

But the Glazers have reportedly handed more money to Erik ten Hag and a late swoop for De Jong is still on the table. United and Barca agreed on a £72million fee weeks ago, but a wage dispute and personal terms made matters difficult.

Man Utd may give up on Antony

Manchester United are reportedly giving up on their endeavours to sign Anthony from Ajax and are instead beginning a new process to find alternatives.

Ten Hag has already signed Lisandro Martinez from the Dutch champions this summer, as well as getting his hands on Christian Eriksen and Tyrell Malacia. And he has been tipped to link up with Anthony once again before the transfer window slams shut at the start of next month.

But, according to The Mirror, United are now looking at alternatives for the Brazilian forward after Ajax rejected their £67.9million bid for him

Casemiro completes medical

Casemiro completed his medical tests in Manchester today ahead of a move to United, according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano

There is still work needed to sort his visa before the move can be officially confirmed, but the Red Devils announced that an agreement in principle had been reached on Friday.

The total package for the outgoing Real Madrid star is believed to stand at £70million, with mammoth wages making him one of United's highest earners.

Antony or Gakpo, but not both

Manchester United will not sign both Antony and Cody Gakpo this summer, according to The Telegraph

The Red Devils don't have the budget to pursue both who, combined, would cost around £100million.

Ajax insist that Antony is not for sale and PSV are keen to play their Champions League qualification tie before letting go of Gakpo.

Maguire to Chelsea 'a nonstarter'

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is a fan of Manchester United captain Harry Maguire, but transfer expert Jonathan Shrager claims that the deal is a 'nonstarter'.

Maguire has faced heavy criticism at United and could be dropped for Monday's clash with Liverpool.

Chelsea, meanwhile, are keen on more defensive reinforcements despite signing Kalidou Koulibaly and Marc Cucurella already this summer.

The Blues reportedly enquired about a potential swap deal with United involving Maguire and Christian Pulisic.

Ismaila Sarr undergoes Aston Villa medical

Outgoing Watford winger Ismaila Sarr is undergoing a medical with Aston Villa today, according to transfer expert Pete O'Rourke

The West Midlands outfit beat competition from various Premier League sides by agreeing a £27million fee and swiftly nailing down personal terms.

Steven Gerrard will be keen to see the Senegalese inspire a turnaround at Villa Park, having lost two of their first three games this season.

Ajax boss makes Antony feelings clear

Ajax manager Alfred Schreuder has called on his club to keep hold of Antony, despite 'crazy money' being thrown around by Manchester United.

"I want Antony to stay," he said. "I am assuming that the club will not sell him. The money that is being thrown around these days is crazy. But I would not find it okay if we sell another player. We are in a powerful position, financially."

United's latest offer was rebuffed by Ajax but they may come back for one final bite at the cherry after he was left out of their squad on Sunday.

Man Utd identify goalkeeper target

Manchester United hold Benfica goalkeeper Odysseas Vlachodimos as one of four targets on their shortlist, according to Fabrizio Romano

Dean Henderson left Old Trafford earlier this summer after struggling to get past David De Gea in the pecking order.

United need a new back-up option but, after De Gea's tricky start to the season, his No 1 spot could be up for grabs unless his form improves.

What Real Madrid think of Casemiro situation

Real Madrid are not ‘overly upset’ at Casemiro’s imminent move to Manchester United, according to reports. The Red Devils agreed a £60million deal with their La Liga counterparts earlier in the week, having cooled their interest in Frenkie de Jong. And, in the 30-year-old, they’re landing one of the most decorated players in the whole of world football.

Manchester United had set their sights on De Jong earlier in the summer but, with a deal for the Barcelona star difficult to broker, have now recruited Casemiro instead.

And the Daily Mail say Real are relaxed over losing the 30-year-old, who has been instrumental as they’ve won five Champions League trophies over the years.

Garner's response to being transfer listed

Manchester United star James Garner has been left surprised by the club’s decision to put him up for sale, it has been claimed. The 21-year-old impressed for Nottingham Forest in the Championship last season. And rivals TottenhamLeeds and Southampton are all eyeing the player at the current moment in time.

According to talkSPORT presenter Alex Crook, Garner was left surprised after being informed that he’d be allowed to leave before the transfer deadline on September 1.

Speaking to GiveMeSport, he said: “He’s been a bit surprised that United are willing to let him go at all, let alone on a permanent transfer.

“But I guess it shows they need to raise funds for this rebuild.”

Toney in demand

and  are set to battle it out once more this summer, with both clubs targeting  striker Ivan Toney. The forward has scored two and assisted two in three  appearances so far this season and is attracting several suitors.

United boss Erik ten Hag is in desperate need of recruits in the final third. The former Ajax boss is keen to reunite with Antony at Old Trafford, though it would cost a reported £85million to prise him away from the Eredivisie.

Thus, the Red Devils are weighing up their options elsewhere, with The Mirror reporting that they remain keen on Brentford star Toney, who registered two assists against them last week in the Bees’ historic 4-0 win. However, they aren’t alone in being keen admirers of the former Newcastle star.

Atletico Madrid's Felix valuation

Atletico Madrid would have put ‘some thought’ into Manchester United’s offer for Joao Felix had it been around the £212million mark, according to reports. The Red Devils are huge admirers of the Portugal international, who scored eight goals and registered four assists from 24 La Liga matches last term. And it’s unclear if Erik ten Hag’s side will launch a second bid for the 22-year-old.

Earlier in the week, it emerged United had launched a huge bid for Felix - with Goal confirming they tried with a £110m approach.

And it’s claimed Atletico Madrid would have put ‘some thought’ into the offer had it been around the £212m mark instead, though potential suitors will likely have to pay the entirety of his £297m release clause.

Forest eye Aurier

are reportedly interested in signing  flop Serge Aurier as their summer spending shows no signs of abating. The Ivorian is a free agent after being released by Villarreal in the summer after spending four underwhelming years in the  with Spurs

Despite his poor performances in the capital, Forest are interested in his signature according to Footmercato. Steve Cooper's side have raised eyebrows by signing 16 new players over the course of the summer and their business shows no sign of letting up.

Ronaldo makes Man Utd U-turn

has ‘accepted’ that he will remain a  player this summer, according to reports. The Portuguese forward was previously pushing for an exit from Old Trafford, though the signing of former team-mate Casemiro appears to have caused a U-turn in his decision.

Throughout, United have insisted that the player was not for sale and that he remained part of Ten Hag’s plans – and it appears Ronaldo may have admitted defeat.

According to Portuguese football expert Pedro Almeida, the 37-year-old has accepted that he will be a United player this season.

Spurs target drops hint

Atalanta midfielder Ruslan Malinovskyi has dropped a huge hint about where his future lies through social media activity on Saturday. The 29-year-old has been heavily linked with a summer switch to Tottenham Hotspur amid his search for a new challenge.

Marseille are reportedly in talks over Malinovskyi, with Cengiz Under potentially included in a deal. However, the 29-year-old could be eyeing a move elsewhere based on his recent social media movements. He looked impressed with Tottenham's 1-0 win over Wolves on Saturday, liking a post marking the victory and Kane's landmark goal on Twitter.

Man Utd 'preparing new Antony offer'

could make a fresh approach for Ajax winger Antony ‘in the next few hours’ according to reports. The Brazilian has once again emerged as John Murtough and ’s top target in recent days and has refused to take part in training after the Eredivisie champions rejected a £63.8milion bid from United earlier this week.

However, the transfer saga could be slowly approaching a conclusion with GOAL reporting that Murtough could make a new offer for the Brazil international ‘in the next few hours’. The proposal is likely to include a range of bonuses which may push the final spend closer to Ajax’s valuation should certain requirements be fulfilled.

Marsch told he has Leeds striker solution

Leeds United hero Danny Mills has suggested that manager Jesse Marsch may not need to dip into the striker market this summer.

The Whites were caught short in attack when Patrick Bamford was kept out with injury last term, but a promising start to the season by Rodrigo could change the dynamic at Elland Road.

"[Rodrigo] never really kicked on from when he signed," Mills told Express Sport, in association with Sky Bet. "There was always flashes that he was a half-decent player. Whether [Marcelo] Bielsa’s style didn’t particularly suit him – that can sometimes be the case.

"You get a new manager in with a new lease of life, that can sometimes be the case and bring more confidence. We all know that being a striker is based on confidence. If you score early on and then miss one, it doesn’t matter and it keeps your confidence high."

Caicedo idolised two Man Utd stars

Brighton ace Moises Caicedo has previously hinted that he could favour a move to Manchester United over Liverpool after admitting he was a big fan of former Red Devils players Paul Pogba and Antonio Valencia.

The 20-year-old has been tipped to move to one of the Premier League high-flyers before the transfer window shuts at the start of September.

“As a midfielder, Pogba was always my favourite player,” the Ecuador international said previously. “Manchester United was always my team because of Pogba and before that Valencia. He was a winger, then a right-back, and was strong, fast and very intelligent. He was the perfect player for the Premier League and if I can go on and enjoy a career like him, then it will be a dream.”

Newcastle 'negotiating £55m double deal'

Newcastle are in talks with Watford over a statement double deal for Joao Pedro and Ismaila Sarr, reports claim. Eddie Howe has emphasised the club's desire to bring in quality over quantity and now two Premier League-proven forwards are very much on his radar.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Newcastle are now in discussions with Watford over the signing of jet-heeled winger Sarr in addition to Pedro.

Man Utd want to splash out £107.3m

Manchester United have launched a £72.3million bid for Antony, according to reports, while they’re also prepared to stump up £35m for Cody Gakpo.

The Glazers know Erik ten Hag needs more backing if he’s to turn the club around, particularly given their turbulent start to the new season.

And it seems like the controversial Americans are ready to bankroll deals for two of world football’s brightest prospects.

According to The Mirror, United have bid £72.3m for Antony. And though their offer has been turned down, they remain determined when it comes to bringing the Brazil international to Old Trafford.

And it’s claimed they’re also looking to land Gakpo, too, with the PSV Eindhoven star valued at around £35m.
