Van Persie’s Serbia dash
ROBIN VAN PERSIE flew to Serbia yesterday in a desperate bid to return to Arsenal action early by having placenta fluid massaged into his injured ankle.
Gunners striker Van Persie fears he could be out for about six weeks with ankle ligament damage suffered in Holland’s friendly with Italy and is doing all he can to cut his recovery time.
Having seen Dutch specialist Professor Niek van Dijk, Van Persie took the advice of Orlando Engelaar and PSV Eindhoven striker Danko Lazovic, who have visited the female doctor who uses human placenta in her massage therapy, and rushed to Serbia.
“I’m going to give it a try. It can’t do any harm and if it helps, it helps. I’ve been in contact with Arsenal’s chief physio and the club has allowed me to have this,” he said.
