Chelsea could face Kai Havertz transfer twist if Bayern Munich sell Liverpool target
Chelsea could end up facing a stiff challenge from Bayern Munich for Kai Havertz.
Kai Havertz ‘should be in the Premier League’ says pundit
Chelsea face the prospect of being beaten to Kai Havertz by Bayern Munich - if the Bundesliga club sell Thiago Alcantara amid talk of a move to Liverpool.
Bayer Leverkusen attacker Havertz is one of the hottest properties on the market ahead of the summer transfer window amid a €100million (£90m) valuation.
Chelsea are looking to make the 21-year-old their third summer signing after capturing Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner.
But Premier League rivals Manchester United and Manchester City are monitoring developments, while Real Madrid are also keen.
Bayern hold a long-term interest in Havertz, who is the youngest player in the league's history to reach 50 and 100 appearances.

But the Bundesliga champions' ability to launch a move has always been dependent on their financial position.
They have an avenue to raise the necessary funds if they sell Thiago, who has rejected a contract extension ahead of the final year of his deal, however.
According to Kicker, Bayern bigwigs are reluctant to allow the Spanish midfielder to leave on the cheap and will hold out for a fee between €60m (£54m) and €80m (£72m).
It is claimed achieving a sale within their desired price range would allow them to finance a swoop for Havertz.

Thiago has been linked with a move to Liverpool, although it is unlikely Anfield bosses would stump up the sums needed after passing on Werner for financial reasons amid the coronavirus crisis.
Allianz Arena bosses have yet to receive an offer and could lose him on a free transfer if they fail to agree a contract extension.
Meanwhile, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has denied that the club have launched an offer for Havertz.
"He's a top player but we're certainly not going to comment on players at other teams," said Lampard. "It cannot be our focus. No bids have gone in."
