Man Utd: Pogba passes to Fernandes at closed match in June
Bruno Fernandes scored what could prove to be an important penalty for Manchester United in the race for the top-four after turning on the style with Paul Pogba. The Portuguese international remained on penalty duty despite the return of the Frenchman and Marcus Rashford.
The midfield pair offered a glimpse into the future for Solskjaer as they showed a natural connection in the 30 minutes they shared together on the pitch.
Pogba won the penalty that was dispatched confidently by Fernandes and the January signing thought he'd won another spot-kick late in the game when he went down under the challenge of Eric Dier before VAR overturned the call.
Fernandes, who is yet to lose in a Manchester United shirt, is looking forward to getting back on the pitch with Pogba and claims their chemistry boils down to the time they've already spent together on the training pitch at Carrington.
"We've been training hard in the past few weeks," Fernandes told Sky Sports.

"When we train in groups I was in the group with Paul so to find the connection is easier.
"I found a good connection with everyone and the most important thing is the team.
"Paul thinks the same and we are happy, the penalty I kick, so most important is the team so it doesn't matter who scores, assists, the more important is winning."
United will be disappointed they couldn't head back to Manchester with all three points in the bag after forcing Hugo Lloris into several notable saves.

The result means Chelsea can gain further ground on them this weekend should they beat Aston Villa.
"I think we did well, we start well with our ideas but they score on the counter-attack," Fernandes added.
"But I think we had a lot of chances to score more and it's not enough for us because we want to win every game.
"In the second half we created more chances and I think the game in full was good after a long stop.
"We don't change nothing, as a team we need to look for the Champions League, we need to try to be close to catch the guys up front.
"Unfortunately we are one point closer but they need to play, we will see."
Fernandes was more than happy to concede that VAR was maybe correct to overturn his penalty shout.
John Moss pointed to the spot but the officials at Stockley Park were quick to overturn the decision.
"I kicked the ball then after I kicked the ball I found his foot," he said on the incident.
"I don't know if I found his foot or not, but I touched his foot.
"VAR is here to help, if they think it's not a penalty, I accept it's nothing more."
