Liverpool 'desperate for chance to be champions' says Klopp
Fiorentina winger Christian Koffi has revealed that he turned down the chance to sign for Liverpool. The Frenchman came through the ranks at Monaco, before making the switch to Italy to pursue first-team opportunities.
While he is yet to breakthrough at Fiorentina, there are still high aspirations for Koffi.
He was not short of options when leaving Monaco either.
In 2018, Koffi turned down the chance to sign for Liverpool after rejecting a professional contract offer from Monaco.
"Everything was decided a little bit at the last moment," Koffi told Goal.

"I was very flattered by the interest of Liverpool, but I chose Fiorentina for my progress.
"Liverpool is more than a big club and I was not ready at this time, especially in 2018.
"Liverpool's team was very good. It was not the good timing, it's the truth."
Liverpool went on to win the Champions League that season and as Koffi points out, his opportunities would have been very limited.
With Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah at the club, even the likes of Xherdan Shaqiri and Divock Origi struggle for minutes.

As for Liverpool, they're expected to endure a quiet summer following the coronavirus crisis.
Sky Sports reporter Vinny O'Connor claims they are unlikely to do any business.
He said: "Do I expect Liverpool to spend this summer?
"At the moment, I'm not expecting much transfer activity.
"Certainly in terms of incomings once again.
"I was actually told that Liverpool won't be signing anyone in the next window.
"If you would have asked me in January, I would have been pretty confident of one or two signings coming in to immediately bolster that first-team squad.
"Since then things have obviously changed.
"There's a different financial climate due to the impact of the coronavirus and that has naturally impacted on potential dealings in the transfer market as well."
